The PHOSPHORUS project consortium, and specifically, its Work Package 1, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with a non-EU institution: the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information, which holds an outstanding position on the Asia research community. This cooperation, started at the end of 2008, explores the possibility to share the experience and technical knowledge and research between PHOSPHORUS and KISTI, letting the latter join as a new member on the optical dynamic switching test-bed controlled by the Harmony system in Phosphorus. KISTI has connected its data plane with Harmony's data plane via GLORIAD/Canarie and the Communications Research Centre in Canada. Moreover, Harmony software is controlling now the Korean segment of the test-bed, having KISTI installed Argia software as their Network Resource Provisioning System. This new domain was involved in the successful demonstrations of Harmony at the PHOSPHORUS booth in the Terena Networking Conference 2009. This workshop demonstrates different approaches to the provisioning of on-demand network services for the scientific community by the European projects, including PHOSPHORUS. In particular, the workshop highlights the integration between transport networks, Grid middleware, applications and supporting tools like simulators by the presentation of solutions for seamless single-step provisioning of on-demand services across multi-domain networks. The presentations will be supported by live demonstrations.

The SC Conference is the premier international conference for high performance computing (HPC), networking, storage and analysis. SC08 marks the 20th anniversary of the first SC Conference. During this event PHOSPHORUS will show a demonstration of an innovative approach to on-demand service delivery across access-independent multi-domain/multi-vendor research network test-beds.

On 12-16th September the Phosphorus project and its integrated services for underlying network technologies allowing transmission of ultra high-resolution content were presented during IBC exhibition in Amsterdam.

Phosphorus TB Meeting was held on 25-29 August in Santorini, Greece.

International Supercomputing Conference 2008, Europe's leading Conference and Exhibition on High Performance Computing, Networking, Storage and Analysis, was held 17-20 June in Dresden. Phosphorus achievements were presented during the exhibition.

SuperComputing 2007 is the international conference for high performance computing, networking, storage and analysis.
During the conference the PHOSPHORUS partners showed a demonstration of the project´s practical achievements. More info in the Events section.

The 3^rd Technical Meeting on Remote Instrumentation in Next-generation Grids (IMEKO'07) was held in Iasi, Romania on 20-21 September 2007.
PSNC represented PHOSPHORUS at IMEKO'07 by providing the presentation posters, folders and leaflets. More information on IMEKO'07 can be obtained online at www.imeko2007.ee.tuiasi.ro.

LambdaGrid Workshop (17-18 September 2007) and CEF Network Workshop (19-20 September 2007) were held in Prague (Czech Republic). PSNC represented PHOSPHORUS by providing PHOSPHORUS presentation stand with posters, folders, leaflets and sweets with PHOSPHORUS logo. More info in the Events section.

Phosphorus members are co-organizing one of ECOC 2007 workshops: "Networks for IT: A new opportunity for optical network technologies". Please find more details in the Events section.

19^th-23^th June 2007, Zakopane, Poland
During this meeting actual status of work in all workpackages was presented. There were inter-WP meetings (broaching specific WP issues), General Assembly meeting, Technical Board meeting and conference call with Enlightened Computing project participants.

During the 3^rd Concertation meeting on e-Infrastructure held in Helsinki, Finland on 20^th of November 2006, the Phosphorus project was represented by its coordinator, Artur Binczewski (PSNC).

First general project meeting took place on 17-18 October in Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Centre premises in Poznan, Poland. All partners were represented. More info can be found in the events section.
